I haven't made a post in a while, so I thought I would let you know what is going on in our classroom this month!

Right now we are collecting shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child! The last day to send in boxes/supplies is THIS Friday, November 17!

In math this month we are starting multiplication! So if you are looking for something to work on with your child outside of school, multiplication facts is my biggest suggestion! If they have mastered multiplication, start on division! The two go hand in hand! :)

We are having a Thanksgiving class party next Wednesday, November 22, so you won't need to send a snack in with your child that day!

I am hoping to work on the glitch in my phone that has kept me from posting any pictures on the blog this year. As soon as that is fixed, I will have some pictures for you of some activities that we did earlier this year! I am very sorry about that!

Looking forward to a fun and busy holiday season!

God Bless!

Next week the second and third grade classes are going to see Jonah at Sight and Sound!

We will be leaving the school around 10:15 and returning when the show is over.

We will be eating a large snack before we leave and "lunch" when we return to school!

Students will NOT be allowed to purchase food/drink or souvenirs on the trip this year.

Students should be wearing nice clothes to Sight and Sound (no jeans, jean skirts, t-shirts, or sneakers).

We are so fortunate to be given this generous opportunity and are looking forward to it!

Thank you!

Upcoming Events

Don't forget that the school sale is THIS Saturday, September 23!

If you have not brought in your item for the basket, please do so ASAP.

Can't wait to see you all there on Saturday!

Next week we are making dioramas for a social studies project about rural, suburban, and urban communities.

If you have any extra shoeboxes floating around at home and would like to send them in with your child, that would be great! I have a few, but I don't have enough for all the groups yet.

In art class next week, the students are doing a Pablo Picasso project. In order to complete this project, they need to bring in an old CD.

Welcome to a new year in third grade!

Please feel free to explore the blog using the tabs along the top of the page.
You will find information about the homework for the week, the Bible memory schedule, events that are coming up, and helpful links that your child can use to practice concepts that we learn in class!

The main page will be used for reminders and pictures of what we are doing in class.

I am so excited to start the school year with you!
Don't forget to subscribe to the blog so you will receive e-mails when a new post is uploaded!

Thank you!

Finally got my phone and pictures to cooperate with me! YAY!
Here are some pictures that I took in April and Mat, starting with some from our Easter egg hunt in April.

There are also some pictures from the art project that we have been doing. We are cutting paper to make replicas of traditional South American molas.

In May we took our field trip to Landis Valley Farm Museum!  We had a lot of fun there. We got to ride in a horse-drawn wagon, practice the German paper cutting art of sherinschnitt, and pretend we were in a real one room school house. The students particularly enjoyed learning about the dunce cap. ;)

Don't forget, tomorrow is Sky Zone! Make sure you have filled out your child's waiver! Thanks so much!
